Of course, you get your wheels in split duro here!
The Seismic Megawatt are the best 90mm wheels on the market for fast skates. Using the high-performance Defcon formula, you get high top speed and long rolling distance. The urethane allows for high rebound, which is ideal for fast and effortless pumping. To me, it was surprising how well these wheels pump. Usually, wheels over 85mm get inefficient and slow for pumping, but these Megawatts are different!
Just like the Alphas, the Megawatts have a concave contact patch. With this, the wheel flexes even more while pumping. This acts like a spring and gives you more rebound with each pump.
What I think about them:
I think the Megawatts are ideal for flatland skates. I kept a 21.5 km/h average on the flat Dutch 6h Ultraskate on these wheels. These wheels will be my pick for the upcoming 24-hour Dutch Ultraskate. For going uphill a lot, I would recommend smaller wheels like the Seismic Alphas, as these are more effort-saving. I don't recommend pumping them in the rain.
Why Split Duro?
In the front, we use faster, harder wheels, and in the rear, grippier, softer wheels. When pumping, the rear wheels need to have more grip. This is done by using a softer wheel for the rear. Also, with a classic +-0 degree rear setup, a softer, more flexy rear minimizes wheel lift. For the front, we use a harder wheel for fast side-to-side turns and better roll efficiency.
